Measuring Internet Resilience

"A resilient Internet connection is one that maintains an acceptable level of service in the face of faults and challenges to normal operation. In this project, measurements to determine the Internet Resilience of all the countries in the proposal will be carried out to determine their resiliency.

From the results, areas for improvement in the respective countries will be identified for example, countries that would need to increase local traffic exchange or increase the availability of key Internet infrastructure."
 

Targeted ADA goals
  • Goal 1.1 - Develop comprehensive digital development strategies at the regional and national levels that keep pace with global developments and allow for monitoring of progress.
  • Goal 2.1 - Maximize competitiveness and strengthen regulation in the telecommunications sector in Arab countries.
  • Goal 2.2 - Enhance regulatory collaboration and coordination between Arab countries to provide and improve telecommunications and regional digital services.
  • Goal 3.3 - Activate and revitalize R&D efforts in the ICT field.
  • Goal 3.5 - Promote the ICT sector in the Arab region.
  • Goal 4.1 - Enable broadband Internet access at reasonable prices.
  • Goal 4.7 - Develop integrated e-government infrastructure and services in Arab countries.
  • Goal 5.2 - Activate registration of domain names in Arabic and promote their acceptance.
